Q: How long will it take me to become a pilot?
A: The time will depend on what program you enroll in or how much training you wish to do. If all you seek is a private pilot
license (ppl) for recreational flying this can be done in as little as a month or two. From scratch to commercial pilot usually
take about six months.
Q: How many hours of flying are required?
A: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations require 40 hours minimum flying time. At least 20 must be with an
instructor (dual) and 20 must be solo. The average completion time is 50 to 60 hours.
Q: How long will it take before I can fly alone?
A: Before you get your private pilot license you will get to fly the airplane solo, this is usually accomplished between 10 to 16
hours of flight time.
Q: What are the medical requirements?
A: To be able to solo an aircraft you will have to obtain a medical certificate. Students and pilots must be able to safely perform
the duties and exercise the privileges of the airman certificate applied for or held. A medical certificate usually cost from $40-100
and is given by doctors designated by the FAA.
Q: How old do I have to be to fly?
A: There is no minimum age for flight lessons, however you have to be at least 16 years old to solo an aircraft and 17 years to
get your private pilots license (PPL). To get a commercial license (CPL) you have to be above 18 years old and to get your airline
transport license (ATPL) you have to be at least 23 years old.
Q: Do I have to take any written exams?
A: As a general rule every certificate and rating has at least one written exam you have to pass with a minimum of 70%.
A written exam cost $80.
Q: Do you offer ground school?
A: Yes. We believe personal dedication is the key to successful training. Your instructor will conduct all your ground training
needs on a "one on one" basis.
Q: How often should I fly?
A: The more the better. The more often you can fly the faster and less expensive your training will be. However, if your schedule
does not allow you to fly at least two to three times per week we can still work out a training schedule for you. Most lessons
take about two hours except form cross-country flights, which can take several hours.
Q: How can I pay for my flight training?
A: We currently accept cash, checks, Visa and MasterCard. You can also have your flight training financed by one of the financial
institutions we have been approved by.
Q: When is the best time to start?
A: Right now! We are open seven days a week and Texas weather allows for flying almost every day out of the year.
Call today and schedule your lesson or to sign up for one of our programs.
Q: I've got my private, now where can I rent an airplane?
A: We have airplanes in every performance and price category ready for you to fly. If you didn't do your training with us a
check out with one of our instructors will be necessary.
